It was Vacation in California and the very first trip was to visit why California was so famous.
California was famous for gold mines. So, my siblings and parents went to a Gold mine in the State Parks. We had a history lesson about the mining industry. Then we took a tour of a retired gold mine in train seats as if we were on the trolley in San Francisco roads. The tour guide would stop every now and then to give us a history lesson on the individuals whom worked there including the type of tools used and any side information of backgrounds.
Then the best part......we got to pan for GOLD in a river that was nearby. We were showed what to do and look for in the river. I only found one tiny flake. The pans that we used, we had to pay for and it was only like 10 dollars per pan equipment. You were only given a 20-30 minute use of the pan, then you had to give it back to the tour guide.
It was a very neat and interesting vacation trip.
