The two years I took classes in a California high school was so different from a mid-western setting. In the Midwest I was always inside unless P.E / Gym class permitted it by activity outside.
Where here in California High school they embraced the outside. Most hallways were outside with the lockers. Never once saw the Janitor.
I enjoyed Photography classes and I really enjoyed my journalism class. However I could not find a University that had Arts classes such as photography. It wasn't until I went to West Valley College several years later that I discovered there was such a College for photographers.
So, I went to search for Journalism in a University setting. I found one in my father's alamata sorority University Whitewater of Wisconsin. so, I went there, it last only 6 months then I came back and went to West Valley College. I discovered I really liked photography and arts and drawing. There was not enough drawing classes at West Valley College. I spent allot of time in the Photography departments.
When I was not out photographing my topics for class, I could be found near the bowling alley across from Westgate and Chevys, in a small building called Photo. Drive Up.
Several years later the EPA showed up with fire Dept in tow while I was at Chevys.
it seemed my supervisor called them and told them of all the hazardous chemicals that was being dumped into the sewers. They had done an investigation at another store as well. The owner of that company was told never again are you allowed to ever be in the Photography business ever again.
17 years later I met up with this guy who worked at Photo Drive up and he was working at Fox photo. While studying to be a police officer and work with the Navy. He goes and tells me that photo drive up is a cousin to Fox photo. I asked did you call the EPA?
He said no. He worked at the one near the miniature golf club in Sunnyvale. It was near the car wash on the El Camino Real.
